Boc Gas & Gear are looking t o take on a Control & Instrumentation Technician Apprentice to work within their team and take on day to day duties. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.

Summary

Duties will include:

  • Position, assemble, install & dismantle plant and equipment which will include instrumentation and control of temperature, pressure and flow of systems to agreed specification
  • Replace, repair and /or remove components in plant and equipment and ensure its safe return to operational condition
  • Calibrate and configure instrument and control systems
  • Comply with industry Health, Safety & Environment working practices and regulations
  • Calibration of a wide range of analysers
  • Involvement with projects on site from instigation through to completion

Working week

Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.

Skills

  • Good communication skills, literacy & numeracy

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4/C or National 5 at Bands A-C (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English and a Science or Technology

With potential to progress to other roles such as a Facility Engineer. Working with experienced BOC Engineers & Maintenance Technicians you will be applying your skills and knowledge to real life situations and play a vital part in maintaining and improving the services of BOC
  • You will benefit from a fully structured apprenticeship programme with on and off the job training through a combination of academic and vocational skill development. You will receive a recognised Level 3 qualification with the opportunity to be supported through Higher Education to obtain a Level 4 upon successful completion equivalent to A Levels & HNC
