Apprenticeship Support by Be More are increasing the number of information sessions across Job Centre Plus in the Liverpool City Region.
The Apprenticeship Support by Be More Team are increasing the number of information sessions they deliver across the Liverpool City Region’s Job Centre Plus network. Information sessions have proved very popular helping Job Centre Plus customers learn more about apprenticeships as a useful route to progressing their career and getting back into employment.
Jake Croxton, Apprenticeship Support by Be More Skills Broker, now runs weekly information sessions across the West Derby Job Centre Plus cluster. Karen Hollins, Employer Advisor, is seeing increasing numbers of her customers attending the sessions. “These are proving to be very valuable sessions. Our customers book up to attend these information sessions with their work coaches, so we can see the number increasing. We began having information sessions pre-COVID in the West Derby Job Centre Plus and they were well attended, filling a room of 25 people. When COVID hit some sessions were run virtually, but Post COVID the sessions are back in the centre and numbers are growing rapidly,” explains Karen.
The information Sessions are proving so popular that they have been extended across the three centres in the cluster. “We are responding to the demand for these sessions by running them once a week for six weeks across the Summer. The sessions will run in the West Derby and Kirby centres and our newest centre, the Innovation Park Job Centre Plus. The sessions are proving invaluable for our customers who have never considered the apprenticeship route into a job and either don’t know much about them or have preconceived ideas about apprenticeship based on traditional perceptions. The Apprenticeship Support by Be More Team have been excellent advising our customers on what modern day apprenticeships are about. In particular, older people have not realised that apprenticeships are open to all ages and that older customers can expect a decent wage, earning while they learn,” reveals Karen.
The Apprenticeship Support by Be More Team are exploring opportunities to hold informationsessions at other Job Centre Plus centres across the Liverpool City Region. If you are interested in exploring how these can help your customers then email the team.
